Dr. Shadab Akhtar

Dr. Akhtar has been part of the Practice since 2019 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), demonstrating her commitment to delivering high-quality and patient-centred care.


She is a compassionate and approachable GP who takes the time to understand her patients’ individual needs and concerns. Her clinical approach is grounded in empathy, active listening, and evidence-based medicine.


Dr. Akhtar enjoys all aspects of general practice, with particular interests in:

  • Child & Adolescent Health – Dr. Akhtar is passionate about supporting children and teenagers as they grow and develop. She provides care for a range of paediatric conditions, immunisations, developmental checks, and adolescent mental health.

  • Women’s Health – She offers a broad range of services including contraception advice, cervical screening (Pap smears), menstrual concerns, fertility counselling, antenatal care, and menopause support. Her gentle and respectful approach ensures her patients feel comfortable and heard.

  • Mental Health – Dr. Akhtar has a strong interest in mental health and is dedicated to helping patients manage conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders. She creates mental health care plans and works collaboratively with mental health professionals to provide ongoing support.


Dr. Akhtar is known for her calm and caring manner and her ability to make patients of all ages feel at ease. She believes in preventive healthcare and empowering her patients to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
